Your sun sign birthstone is that which corresponds to your sign of the zodiac. Because the sun signs don't start on the 1st of the month but more around the third week, your sun sign birthstone can be different from your birthstone for the month in which you were born. For example a Taurean will consider their gemstone to be an emerald, but if they were born in April, their month stone would be a diamond.
